Production Supervisor

Purpose of the designation:

  • Improve production in rewinding/slitting/cutting and packing whilst reducing costs.
  • Plan, schedule and organize production processes.
  • Responsible for the overall performance of the Production Department.
  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of plant and machinery.
  • Supervision of labors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all production-related activities and ensure the overall performance of the Production Department meets organizational goals.
  • Assessing project and resource requirements.
  • Planning and organizing production schedules for cutting, rewinding, slitting, and printing.
  • Supervise the cutting, rewinding, slitting and packing department.
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results.
  • Submit relevant reports on the progress and performance of labor working in the Production Department.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs.
  • Responsible for the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment.
  • Supervising the work of junior staff.
  • Responsible for training of the labor staff.
  • Improve production efficiency while actively working on reducing operational costs.
  • Ensure all production data is documented and shared with the DEOs /relevant person and management.
  • Work closely with the Inventory Manager to understand SAP.
  • Ensure quality assurance across all production stages and address any deviations from quality standards.
  • Maintain daily logbooks and reports for cutting, rewinding and slitting operators.
  • Ensure timely provision of production reports to the management for review and decision-making.
  • Any other task to be performed by the employee mentioned under the relevant SOP.

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in production supervision, preferably in a manufacturing unit.
  • Strong knowledge of production machinery.
  • Good communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet manufacturing of tapes, maintain quality standards, manage staff, and coordinate with other departments to meet production targets.
