Role Description

We are seeking a
Research Writer with expertise in English communication, linguistics, and academic writing
to support the preparation, editing, and proofreading of manuscripts intended for publication in
top-tier journals
(Scopus, SSCI, SCI, etc.). The ideal candidate will not only be a skilled academic writer and editor but also have
their own record of publications
in reputable, peer-reviewed journals. This role is best suited for someone who is detail-oriented, research-driven, and familiar with the rigorous standards of international scholarly publishing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and refine research manuscripts, literature reviews, and reports for submission to indexed journals (Scopus, SSCI, SCI, etc.).
  • Proofread documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to academic style guides (APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, etc.).
  • Collaborate with researchers and faculty to strengthen the clarity, structure, and argumentation of manuscripts.
  • Ensure compliance with journal submission guidelines and publication ethics.
  • Conduct background research to support manuscript development where needed.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve the quality and impact of academic writing.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of academic publishing trends and standards.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in English, Linguistics, Communications, or a related research field.
  • Proven record of publications
    in reputable peer-reviewed journals (Scopus/SSCI/SCI indexed).
  • Demonstrated expertise in academic writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Excellent command of English grammar, academic vocabulary, and research writing conventions.
  • Familiarity with manuscript submission processes, peer-review standards, and journal requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred skills

  • Experience mentoring or guiding researchers in manuscript preparation.
  • Knowledge of plagiarism checks, citation management software (EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc.).
  • Ability to simplify complex research for broader academic or policy audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-disciplinary communication skills.
