DURATION : 3 months
ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT:
The United Nations World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian organization saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change. Present in Pakistan since 1968, the World Food Programme (WFP) works with the Government and partners to improve food security and nutrition among the most vulnerable communities across the country. In 2024, WFP reached 3.2 million people across Pakistan through livelihoods and resilience programmes, nutrition prevention and treatment, school meals and social protection programmes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
1. Support the preparation of reporting products for the Country Office, including reports, factsheets, and other external reporting products.
2. Support the preparation of internal briefing materials, talking points, presentations, and meeting notes.
3. Support the preparation of content for traditional and social media platforms and printed materials, to enhance coverage and support of WFP's activities, ensuring consistency with corporate messages and standards.
4. Provide support in organizing and promoting events, including workshops, conferences, and community outreach initiatives.
5. Assist in collecting and organizing photos, videos, and beneficiary testimonies for communications purposes.
6. Produce data visualizations, infographics, and visual content (charts, graphs, dashboards, presentations) to communicate key programmatic and operational results clearly and effectively for diverse audiences, including senior leadership, donors, and external partners.
7. Conduct research and contribute to reports and briefings for the senior management to enable informed decision-making and support external engagement.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE:
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex data into compelling messages.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to develop high-quality visual content to complement narrative reporting and advocacy outputs – such as infographic – is an asset.
STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
First university degree in Journalism, International Relations, Public Relations, Communications or other relevant field is required.
Language:
Fluency in English.
