Order Taker

Job Title: Order Taker – Thai, Japanese & Chinese Cuisine

Reports To: Shift Supervisor / Restaurant Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly, efficient, and detail-oriented Order Taker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for taking customer orders for Thai, Japanese, and Chinese cuisine accurately and efficiently—whether by phone, in person, or through an online system. A successful candidate will have strong communication skills, basic food knowledge, and a passion for excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers warmly and take their orders clearly and accurately.
• Provide detailed menu information and make suggestions based on customer preferences.
• Confirm orders with customers to ensure accuracy, including special dietary needs or preferences.
• Handle takeout and delivery orders via phone, in person, or online platforms.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared correctly and timely.
• Process payments (cash, credit card, mobile payment) and issue receipts.
• Pack and check food orders to ensure completeness and presentation before delivery or pickup.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter or reception area.
• Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally and escalate to management when necessary.
• Stay informed about menu updates, daily specials, and promotions.
• Follow health and safety guidelines at all times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service is an asset.
• Familiarity with Thai, Japanese, and Chinese dishes is a strong plus.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure during busy periods.
• Basic math and cash-handling skills.
• Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
