Position Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Insurance Verification & Authorization Specialist to join our medical billing team. In this role, you will be responsible for confirming patient insurance coverage, obtaining necessary pre-authorizations, and ensuring accurate documentation to support efficient billing and claims processing—all while complying with payer-specific requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesInsurance Verification & Eligibility

  • Validate patient insurance benefits through payer portals or by directly contacting insurance representatives.
  • Update and maintain accurate eligibility records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system (e.g., eClinicalWorks).
  • Complete and upload insurance verification forms promptly for all new patients.
  • Clearly explain estimated out-of-pocket costs to patients.
  • Escalate unresolved coverage or balance concerns to the Patient Collections team.
  • Proactively follow up with patients for missing or updated insurance details to ensure up-to-date records.

Authorizations & Compliance

  • Obtain prior authorizations for services that require insurer pre-approval.
  • Adhere strictly to Medicaid and other payer-specific guidelines.
  • Identify and coordinate out-of-network cases with the Patient Services team.
  • Secure pre-approvals for psychological evaluations, ensuring proper documentation and alert maintenance.

Operational Support & Coordination

  • Assist with urgent or same-day appointment scheduling to maintain efficiency.
  • Report discrepancies in billing, changes in payer policies, or provider network status.
  • Work closely with the Practice Manager to resolve incomplete patient intake documentation.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Billing Manager to refine workflows and improve accuracy.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year in medical billing or healthcare insurance verification (Preferred)
  • Language Skills: Strong English communication skills (Required)
  • Schedule: Availability for night shifts
  • Location: Must be able to commute reliably to or relocate near Wapda Town before joining

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Rs40, Rs80,000.00 per month
