Junior–Mid Python Developer (Web Scraping & Data Pipelines)

Location:
DHA Phase 8, Lahore (Onsite)

Timing:
9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Full-time, Monday–Friday)

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated
Python Developer
with strong skills in
web scraping
and
data pipelines
. You will be responsible for building tools to index, download, and analyze large sets of files from different sources. This is a
priority project
and you'll work closely with the team to ensure smooth data collection and keyword analysis using tools like
Apache Tika
.

Responsibilities

  • Develop
    indexers
    to crawl and capture file trees/listings from multiple websites.
  • Build
    downloaders
    to fetch and organize large volumes of files, with error handling and resumable downloads.
  • Integrate
    Apache Tika (or similar tools)
    to extract text and metadata from files (docs, PDFs, spreadsheets, etc.).
  • Implement keyword scanning and simple analytics for quick triage.
  • Maintain logs, reports, and structured data outputs (JSON/CSV).
  • Work with the team to prioritize sources and optimize the pipeline for performance.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years
    of professional experience with Python.
  • Hands-on experience with
    web scraping
    (Requests, BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, or Playwright/Selenium).
  • Knowledge of handling large file downloads and storage.
  • Familiarity with text/data extraction tools (preferably
    Apache Tika
    ).
  • Comfortable working in Linux environments (basic CLI, file handling).
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to learn quickly.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Elasticsearch, ClickHouse, or any search/analytics DB.
  • Understanding of file handling best practices (hashing, integrity checks).
  • Prior exposure to cybersecurity or data-intensive projects.
