Quality Assurance Lead

Job Summary:

We are looking for a QA Lead with 8+ years of experience to join our Quality Engineering team and drive the delivery of high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in automation (UI and API), manual, SQL/database, and performance testing, along with proven leadership experience in managing QA teams, mentoring talent, and ensuring successful delivery through risk identification and mitigation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and execution of functional, regression, integration, and performance testing across diverse applications
• Lead and design test automation architecture spanning multiple product technologies, covering build verification, functional validation, stability, and data integrity.
• Design, develop, and execute robust automation frameworks and scripts using Playwright (TypeScript), Selenium, cypress (JavaScript), Appium and TestNG.
• Spearhead improvements to software development processes across all teams, embedding Total Quality Assurance best practices in project management, development, business operations, reporting, and quality management.
• Oversee and contribute to the creation and review of test strategies, test plans, and test cases, ensuring full coverage of features and system requirements.
• Act as a test lead, planning, assigning, and reviewing the work of QA engineers to meet project goals and deadlines.
• Mentor and guide QA engineers, providing technical leadership and enabling testers to transition into automation practices including performance testing, and risk-based testing.
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for domain knowledge and supported applications.
• Review requirements, user stories, specifications, and design documents to translate them into detailed and comprehensive test plans.
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities in an Agile environment, ensuring timely delivery with high quality.
• Ensure comprehensive UI, API, database and performance testing, leveraging strong knowledge of database concepts, best practices, and proficiency in SQL for validation and analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, product managers, business analysts) to define system requirements, interfaces, and performance needs, aligning QA with business objectives.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience as a Quality Engineer, with leadership exposure.
• Strong expertise in manual testing, with experience in automation testing (UI and API) and possesses the ability to efficiently analyze extensive datasets
• Good understanding of performance testing and metrics.
• Experience with AWS/Azure
• Strong skills in Python, JavaScript or TypeScript and experience with API and mobile testing.
• Expertise in GitHub pipelines for continuous delivery.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to translate software requirements/stories into accurate and complete test scenarios, including identifying detailed test data needs.
• Proficiency in SQL and database querying, with a solid understanding of database concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience managing QA teams and mentoring team members across multiple projects and products.
• Ownership of delivery, with the ability to identify potential risks and mitigate them to achieve desired goals.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills.
• Experience working in a distributed environment with colleagues across different geographies.
• Proficiency in SQL for data validation, querying, and analysis.

Experience:

• Minimum: 6 - 7 years
• Preferred: 8+ Years

Education/Qualification:

• Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
