Job description:

As our SEO & Generative Optimization Specialist, you'll lead efforts to enhance our clients' visibility across both traditional search engines (Google, Bing) and emerging AI-driven platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and others). You'll conduct deep audits, build and implement advanced strategies, and track performance to improve not only rankings and organic traffic, but AI answer visibility, entity authority, and brand presence across the web.

You'll collaborate with our account and creative teams to develop frameworks that provide future-proof client success in a world of generative search.

Key Responsibilities

Audit & Strategy Development

  • Conduct comprehensive audits across SEO, GEO, and AEO dimensions (technical, on-page, off-page, and AI visibility).
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to increase clients' visibility in both organic and generative search results.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve brand citations, entity structure, and AI retrievability.

Execution & Optimization

  • Implement cutting-edge SEO and GEO techniques, including structured data, knowledge graph optimization, entity linking, and conversational search intent modeling.
  • Optimize for AI-generated answers and AI Overviews, tracking performance and visibility metrics.
  • Use and test new AI/SEO tools and automation workflows to streamline optimization, analysis, and reporting.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of campaigns and experiments.
  • Take ownership and proactively identify gaps and lead initiatives to fix or improve them.
  • Stay up to date on AI, search trends, and emerging technologies, sharing insights that benefit both clients and internal processes.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 4+ years of experience in SEO (local, technical, and content-focused).
  • Demonstrated experience with Generative SEO (GEO) or Answer Engine Optimization (AEO).
  • Strong understanding of Google's evolving search ecosystem (AI Overviews, SGE, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Bing Copilot, and other AI-driven search engines.
  • Proficiency in SEO tools (Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, GSC, SurferSEO, etc.) and analytics platforms (GA4, Looker Studio).
  • Hands-on experience optimizing for multi-location or local businesses (e.g., healthcare, dental, or service-based).
  • Excellent analytical, written, and communication skills.
