To oversee the operation, maintenance, and qualification of all HVAC systems ensuring compliance with cGMP, DRAP, and WHO standards. The role ensures that all production and storage areas maintain controlled environmental conditions critical for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operation of HVAC systems including AHUs, chillers, air compressors, exhaust systems, and duct networks.
  • Ensure uninterrupted environmental control (temperature, humidity, pressure differentials) in classified areas.
  • Implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for HVAC equipment.
  • Monitor and verify HEPA filter integrity testing, air balancing, and system performance validation.
  • Coordinate with Production, QA, and Validation teams for HVAC qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) activities.
  • Maintain HVAC logbooks, calibration records, and system documentation as per GMP standards.
  • Respond promptly to HVAC breakdowns and coordinate repairs to minimize production downtime.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with safety and SOP requirements.
  • Participate in new HVAC system installation, commissioning, and modification projects.
  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring documentation readiness and compliance evidence.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, maintenance data, and performance summaries to management.

Qualification & Experience

  • Education:
    B.E. / B.Sc. in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or HVAC Engineering (PEC registration preferred).
  • Experience:
    5–6 years of relevant experience in HVAC operations and maintenance in a
    pharmaceutical or regulated industry

Technical Knowledge:

  • cGMP, WHO, and DRAP requirements.
  • Cleanroom classifications (ISO
  • HVAC validation and qualification procedures.
  • PLC, BMS, and automation systems for HVAC control.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical and diagnostic skills in HVAC systems.
  • Good understanding of cleanroom dynamics and air handling system design.
  • Leadership ability to manage technicians and coordinate with other departments.
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and engineering software tools.
  • Focused on compliance, energy efficiency, and operational excellence.

Working Conditions

  • Involves regular monitoring of cleanrooms, utility areas, and HVAC equipment zones.
