Propomy is an AI-powered real estate intelligence platform built for investors and realtors. Our mission is to reinvent how properties are analyzed by combining machine learning, property data, and modern automation. With Propomy, users can instantly evaluate properties, estimate rental income, calculate ROI, explore neighborhoods interactively, and leverage a conversational AI assistant for investment decisions.

We are currently building our MVP with a distributed engineering team and preparing to scale our data, product, and automation layers.

Role: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

We are looking for an SDET who is passionate about quality, automation, and building systems that scale. As one of the early technical members of Propomy, you will own our automation strategy and help ensure our platform remains fast, stable, and reliable as we grow.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both coding and testing, thrives in a startup environment, and wants to contribute to a product from the ground up.

ResponsibilitiesTest Automation Development

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for web and API testing.
  • Develop robust, scalable test scripts in alignment with our frontend ) and backend (Python/FastAPI) architecture.
  • Implement automated smoke, regression, and integration test suites.
  • Ensure test scripts are optimized for speed, reliability, and readability.

Quality Engineering Ownership

  • Partner with product, frontend, backend, and ML teams to understand features and convert requirements into test cases.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive test suite that grows with the product.
  • Integrate automated tests within CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions).
  • Establish best practices for testing, code review, and defect tracking.

Manual & Exploratory Testing

  • Perform manual testing as needed for newly built features until automation coverage increases.
  • Identify gaps across UI, API, data pipelines, model outputs, and performance.

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor daily builds and test runs; identify failures and root causes quickly.
  • Refactor scripts when needed to keep the automation framework clean, modular, and maintainable.
  • Advocate for testability and quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as an SDET, QA Automation Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one automation language (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java).
  • Hands-on experience writing automated tests for UI and APIs.
  • Familiarity with modern test frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Pytest, Jest, etc.).
  • Understanding of Git, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong debugging skills and ability to isolate root causes.
  • Experience in startups or fast-moving environments is a plus.
  • Experience testing ML-driven applications or data pipelines is a bonus.
