About the Opportunity

Join a fast-growing life insurance comparison business in Australia, committed to transforming the way Australians access life insurance. With insurer partnerships in place and a lead generation strategy ready to deploy, the company is now moving into its build-and-launch phase. We're seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to lead the operational setup of the business. This is a unique opportunity to be involved from day one — with a clear path to evolve into the Operations Lead role as the company scales.

Role Overview

This is a foundational role ideally suited for someone who thrives in startup or early-stage environments. You will take ownership of designing, building, and implementing the business's end-to-end operational systems — from workflow design to compliance, technology infrastructure, and team setup.

Key Responsibilities Stakeholder Engagement
  • Liaise with partnered insurers to understand integration, application handling, and data/reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure alignment with the General Advice model and license obligations.
Operations Design & Build
  • Map out and document the entire customer journey: from lead capture through to referral to insurers.
  • Design and implement operational workflows, quality controls, and reporting dashboards.
  • Build, test, and manage the required systems (CRM, telephony, call recording, lead tracking, etc.).
Technology & Tools
  • Evaluate and implement tools and platforms to support CRM, customer communications, analytics, call systems, social media, and marketing tracking.
  • Work with website and marketing teams to optimise conversion paths and user experience.
Team & People
  • Assist in preparing job descriptions and recruiting staff across sales, support, and marketing.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members, particularly on systems, processes, and compliance requirements.
Marketing & Lead Generation
  • Coordinate with internal marketing and external lead generation partners to ensure lead quality, flow, and tracking.
  • Set up systems to attribute, manage, and optimise leads.
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Establish and maintain strong operational and compliance procedures aligned to AFSL and ASIC guidelines.
  • Monitor and audit processes for compliance and continuous improvement.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience in project management, business operations, or startup environments.
  • Familiarity with financial services, insurance, or other regulated industries preferred.
  • Strong grasp of operational processes, compliance frameworks, and systems implementation.
  • Resourceful, hands-on, and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Technically capable — not necessarily a developer, but confident implementing tools and platforms.
Highly Regarded
  • Background in life insurance or general insurance.
  • Experience with CRMs
  • Knowledge of lead generation or affiliate marketing pipelines.
  • Experience building or leading customer operations or support teams.
