Job Summary VST Inc. is seeking a Python Developer with strong API design and development experience to join our innovative team. You will design, build, and maintain robust APIs, integrate with external services, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable software solutions. You will also contribute to code quality, testing, and deployment processes, while mentoring junior developers as needed.

Key Responsibilities

API Design and Development

o Design, implement, and maintain RESTful (and/or GraphQL) APIs using Python.

o Ensure APIs are scalable, secure, well-documented, and versioned.

o Create and enforce API contracts, schemas, and error handling standards.

Backend Development

o Develop high-quality Python applications using frameworks such as Django or Flask.

o Implement data models and business logic that support API endpoints.

o Optimize performance, security, and reliability of backend services.

System Architecture and Integration

o Collaborate on system architecture decisions related to API gateways, authentication, rate limiting, and service orchestration.

o Integrate with databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and external APIs/services.

o Design data pipelines and caching strategies to improve API responsiveness.

Testing and Quality Assurance

o Develop automated tests (unit, integration, and contract tests) for APIs and backend services.

o Participate in code reviews, enforce coding standards, and promote best practices.

DevOps and Deployment

o Work with the DevOps team to automate deployment, monitoring, and observability of APIs.

o Containerize services (e.g., Docker) and deploy to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).

Collaboration and Communication

o Translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

o Collaborate with product managers and front-end engineers to define API requirements and timelines.

Required Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

· Experience: 5+ years of Python development with a proven track record building and consuming APIs.

Skills:

o Proficiency in Python 3.x and web frameworks (Django or Flask).

o Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs; familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.

o Knowledge of authentication/authorization methods (OAuth2, JWT) and API security best practices.

o Experience with databases (MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data modeling.

o Familiarity with front-end integration (e.g., ) is a plus, but not required.

o Understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices.

o Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS or similar).

o Knowledge of CI/CD workflows and testing strategies.

o Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

Nice-to-Have

· Experience with API testing tools (Postman, Pact, or similar).

· Certification in Python development or API design.

· Knowledge of asynchronous programming (asyncio) and message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
