Key responsibilities

·       
Installation:

Install and configure fiber optic cables, hardware, and connections in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

·       
Splicing and Termination:

Splice and terminate fiber optic cables using fusion splicers or other specialized equipment.

·       
Testing and troubleshooting:

Test fiber optic cables and networks using specialized equipment like an 
OTDR
 to ensure quality and diagnose problems.

·       
Maintenance and repair:

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on existing fiber optic infrastructure to ensure reliability and functionality.

·       
Documentation:

Maintain accurate and detailed records of all installations, repairs, and testing performed.

·       
Safety and compliance:

Follow all safety standards and regulations, and work safely in various environments, which may include heights or confined spaces.

·       
Collaboration:

Work with engineering, project management, and other teams to optimize network performance. 

Required skills and qualifications

Technical knowledge:

Proficiency with fiber optic testing equipment, splicing, and troubleshooting techniques.

·       
Physical ability:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and in both indoor and outdoor environments.

·       
Problem-solving:

Strong ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

·       
Communication:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with customers and team members.
