Role Overview

We are building an AI-driven workflow automation platform. The platform will be powered by a backend on AWS with Flutter mobile apps as the client front end.

You will be the primary backend/full-stack engineer responsible for designing, coding, and deploying the core APIs, document workflows, and integrations.

You'll work closely with a Flutter developer (mobile apps) and project lead.

Responsibilities

Backend Development

Build modular backend in (TypeScript) using Fastify or NestJS

Implement workflow engine (templated, configurable steps).

Develop APIs for mobile apps (auth, workflows, messaging, documents, payments)

Integrate with AWS services (RDS PostgreSQL, S3, SQS, Secrets Manager)

AI / Automation

Integrate LLM APIs (OpenAI/Azure/Anthropic) for document parsing & summaries

Implement OCR pipelines (Textract, Tesseract, or Vision API)

Build Playwright-based RPA tasks

Integrations

Implement UAE PASS OIDC login + e-signature flow

Integrate payment gateways )

Build optional email/SMS/WhatsApp communication bridges

Security & Compliance

Ensure JWT/OAuth2.0 authentication

Apply encryption (S3 SSE, HTTPS, DB at rest)

Implement audit trails for document handling & AI calls

DevOps

Dockerize apps; deploy on AWS ECS Fargate

Set up CI/CD (GitHub Actions → ECR → ECS)

Configure logging/monitoring (CloudWatch) and alarms

Frontend (Nice-to-have)

Basic admin web dashboard in for internal ops

Flutter knowledge is a bonus

Required Skills

(5+ years) with TypeScript (2+ years)

Strong with at least one framework: Fastify or NestJS

Database: PostgreSQL + ORM (Prisma or TypeORM)

AWS: ECS Fargate, RDS, S3, SQS, Secrets Manager

RESTful API design (GraphQL a bonus)

Docker (building production images, multi-stage builds)

Playwright or Puppeteer automation

Experience integrating 3rd party APIs (OAuth, payments, identity providers)

Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, or similar)

Familiarity with secure coding (auth, secrets, data protection, GDPR-style compliance)

Nice to Have

Experience with AI/LLM integration (OpenAI, Azure AI, Anthropic)

OCR / PDF parsing tools (Tesseract, Textract, pdf-lib, pdfplumber)

for web dashboard development

Flutter exposure (to collaborate with Flutter developer)

Background

Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field (preferred, not mandatory)

Strong portfolio of production-level projects

Prior work in FinTech, PropTech, or compliance-heavy apps is a big plus
