Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to support our Africa office operations. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and capable of managing financial transactions, preparing accurate reports, and ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and prepare accurate financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable and receivable to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve queries related to billing, payments, and vendor/customer accounts.
  • Administrative Support: Perform general office duties including data entry, document filing, handling calls, and processing incoming/outgoing mail.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate with the clients to ensure alignment in financial processes and reporting.
  • Data Management: Maintain up-to-date and accurate A/P and A/R records in accounting software.
  • Record Keeping: Organize and maintain documentation related to financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and contracts.
  • Escalation Management: Identify and escalate issues related to payment discrepancies or irregularities.
  • Month-End Close: Perform month-end accounting procedures, including:
  • Recording of invoices and interest income
  • Expense tracking and depreciation management
  • Payroll processing and bank reconciliations
  • Petty cash verification
  • Provident fund provision oversight
  • Handling income tax payments and withholding requirements
  • Processing salaries and wages

Requirements:

  • MBA or M. Com or Equivalent Degree holders are encouraged to apply.
  • More than 0-1 years of accounting work experience (essential).
  • Proficiency in financial software is a plus.
  • Sound understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Excellent Knowledge in Microsoft office applications
  • Good verbal and written skills in the English.
  • Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Critical thinker with a high proficiency in accounts and accounts generals.
  • Candidate will have to travel outside for office requirements.
