IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

Be responsible for overseeing sales operations at the zone level, managing regional teams that include Senior Managers of Regional Sales, Sales Support, Business Development, and other key positions. This role is crucial for driving revenue growth, developing sales strategies, and ensuring the effective execution of sales initiatives across multiple regions. The Director of Sales will work closely with the VP of Sales to align regional activities with overall corporate objectives, fostering a high-performance culture within the sales organization.

HOW CAN YOU EXPRESS YOUR TALENT

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement zone-level sales strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Lead and inspire regional sales teams to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales to set performance goals, sales forecasts, and budgets for each region.

Team Management:

  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of regional sales teams, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and resources necessary for success.
  • Foster a high-performance culture through coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to ensure team alignment with sales objectives.

Sales Performance Monitoring:

  • Monitor sales performance across regions, analyzing key metrics and providing actionable insights to drive improvements.
  • Implement and refine performance tracking systems to ensure effective measurement of sales activities and outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and proactively address challenges to enhance overall sales performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments, including marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment on sales initiatives and customer strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager Business Development to identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Engage with the Senior Manager Sales Support to optimize sales processes and enhance customer experience.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders within the zone.
  • Engage in high-level negotiations and strategic discussions with major clients to drive long-term business partnerships.
  • Ensure that customer feedback is effectively communicated to regional teams and incorporated into sales strategies.

Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence:

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform sales strategies and positioning.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and provide insights to senior management for strategic planning.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance market penetration and drive brand awareness in the region.

Reporting & Accountability:

  • Prepare and present regular reports to the VP of Sales on sales performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure accountability within the regional teams for achieving sales targets and delivering on performance commitments.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements within the sales function.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA is preferred

Experience

  • 8-10 years of experience in sales leadership roles, with a proven track record of driving sales growth and managing high-performing teams in the telecom or related industry

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in sales management software and CRM systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience in data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of market dynamics and competitive landscape in the telecom sector

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
