Infra Engineer

Position Summary:

You will be responsible for leading and managing system patching including all operating systems installed in TMB infrastructure i.e. (Windows, Linux, and AIX) for Branch/Branchless banking. Knowledge and hands-on experience of patching tools i.e., K-patch/oracle K-splice, Ivanti patch management, Microsoft System center and configuration manager (SCCM)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Working knowledge of the management of highly available enterprise IT infrastructure and associated systems and support services, including Windows server, Linux and infrastructure services.
• Provide operational support of backup infrastructure and performs daily operations on a Veeam and HP data protector.
• Perform daily monitoring and management of the backup implemented across the TMB infrastructure as per pre-defined policies & procedures.
• Monitor backup jobs, execute restore jobs, troubleshoot failed jobs, and initiate corrective action.
• Provide and analyze daily, weekly and monthly backup reports.
• Review backup capacity and utilization trending.
• Configure and manage backups of IT infrastructure (physical and virtual servers, storage, backup, on-premises, and cloud)
• Work closely with all stakeholders and implement backups as per system requirements for new or existing systems.
• Perform reliable, secure backup and recovery across the enterprise in accordance with TMB policy and procedures.
• Provide system expansion recommendations to support data growth.
• Create and maintain operational documentation as required for all aspects of the data protection service.
• Knowledge of managing HP StoreOnce Backup Appliance, EMC Data-Domain, and Tape Libraries
• Support and troubleshoot backup, recovery and archiving in a large, complex, and widely distributed environment.
• Ensure environment and software compatibility of Veeam solutions to be installed, implemented, and integrated with the existing environment.
• Experience and knowledge Windows Servers, Linux, and IBM AIX Operating Systems
• Experience and knowledge of Patch Management / Configuration Management tools i.e., Ivanti Patch Management, Microsoft SCCM/WSUS for Windows, Oracle K-splice, and RedHat Satellite for Linux.
• Administrative Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Polices and PowerShell.
• Coordinate and plan with stakeholders to schedule system updates and patches.
• Plan, lead and manage Application Packaging, Software Distribution, OS Deployment and Patch Management for the enterprise.
• Follow the change management process and take downtime (if required) in CAB to support continuous delivery of vulnerability patching, scheduling and remediation, and reporting across a multi-site network of internal and public-facing systems across enterprise-wide.
• Builds and maintains reports for patch management. Also keep record for patching activities for Internal/External audits, Information Security, and IT Governance
• include compliance against defined SLAs, etc.
• Experience creating, removing, customizing, deploying, modification and automating software packages using Ivanti and SCCM and their reports.
• Distribution of monthly security patches utilizing Ivanti Patch manager, SCCM and WSUS.
• Thoroughly evaluate, validate, and deploy application packages; document and provide evaluation results.
• Create custom test environments to provide proof of concept before implementing into production.

Knowledge and Experience

Education:

Degree BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related subject

Experience:

1-2 years of System Administration, Enterprise Backups and Patch Management

1. Good knowledge over Virtualization Platform (VMWare, Microsoft Hyper-V) and public and private cloud
2. Experience of managing multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, and AIX)
