As-Suffah Academy is a faith-based educational institution located in Minnesota, committed to academic excellence, character development, and community values. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to manage and support our school's financial operations, including tuition processing, donation tracking, and financial reporting.

Job Description

The Finance Officer will play a key role in managing day-to-day financial tasks and helping the school maintain transparent and efficient financial systems. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience with Google Sheets, and familiarity with accounting tools such as QuickBooks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and manage student tuition fee records
  • Follow up with parents regarding tuition payments in a professional and respectful manner
  • Coordinate and track donation receipts, recurring donations, and fundraising collections
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date Finance Master Sheet and Expense Sheet
  • Record and organize payment receipts and documentation
  • Generate financial reports, summaries, and graphs using Google Sheets
  • Assist in budget planning and cash flow tracking
  • Ensure all data entry and financial record-keeping is accurate and up to date
  • Support the development of financial policies and procedures for school operations
  • Collaborate with the administrative team to meet financial goals
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience in a finance, accounting, or administrative support role
  • Proficient in Google Sheets (must be able to create formulas, graphs, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills — able to follow up professionally with parents and donors
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in problem-solving
  • Able to quickly learn new tools and adapt to changing processes
  • Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms is a strong plus
  • Understanding of basic accounting/bookkeeping principles
  • Experience in a school or nonprofit environment is a plus
