About The Role
Abyss is looking for a Project Engineer to support our Oil & Gas Customer Success Team. As a Project Engineer, your focus is to support the production work integral to the customers desired product outcome. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for technology. You will report into a team of Application Engineers who each own a client and their associated product portfolio. While the Application Engineer identifies and scopes opportunities for added value, you as the Project Engineer will support in executing said scopes. As a Project Engineer, you will act as a technical expert and play a crucial role in delivering projects; this includes, but is not limited to, technical engineering review of results generated by automated systems, maintaining the highest level of quality in line with customer needs and organization standards, and prioritizing deliverables across teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering Evaluation: Review visual data against engineering standards to generate condition assessment insights. This includes technical writing required to detail all results and associated engineering reasoning.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct comprehensive data analysis, interpret deliverables, and provide meaningful insights to help clients understand the implications of the data for their operations and strategic goals.
  • Reporting and Communication: Create and deliver presentations, timelines, and progress updates to keep all stakeholders informed about project status.
  • CAD & Dimensional Analyses: Use CAD and other software to conduct dimensional analyses or recreate engineering drawings from visual data.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product development, marketing, and customer success teams to stay updated on product features, enhancements, and market trends.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, project plans, and customer interactions, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Project Management: Drive timely delivery of customer requests by scoping clear deliverables, forecasting effort, and consistently updating stakeholders through the completion of initiatives and projects.
  • Customer Service: Support customer post-sales activity to ensure recurring business.
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as the technical expert on the company's software products and solutions, providing in-depth knowledge and insights to both clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 1 to 5 years of engineering experience in structural engineering, infrastructure design, or oil & gas. Experience in a sales support or client-facing role is highly desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of project management principles and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on schedule.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Strong attention to quality assurance processes and standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly in creating presentations and reports.
