About Role:

The Assistant Manager Networks and Security will dive deep into network operations and become the architect of a secure and efficient network in a fast-paced technology environment. You'll not only manage and troubleshoot the core infrastructure but also play a strategic role in shaping its future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own day-to-day network operations, managing and maintaining network devices with expertise (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points).
  • Manage network and security projects from initiation to completion.
  • Design, implement, and enforce robust network security policies to safeguard the digital ecosystem from evolving threats.
  • Assess network performance, identify areas for improvement, and plan and implement upgrades and expansions to meet organizational growth.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures to protect organizational data and infrastructure.
  • Proactively monitor network performance, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to ensure optimal uptime and user experience.
  • Analyze performance data and implement strategies to optimize bandwidth utilization, network throughput, and response times.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity strategies to ensure network availability.
  • Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and execute network projects.
  • Lead incident response activities for network and security breaches.
  • Provide expert technical support and act as a trusted advisor for network optimization.
  • Document network configurations and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and operational consistency.
  • Stay updated on emerging networking technologies and implement solutions to enhance performance and security.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the network engineering team, including performance evaluations and knowledge sharing.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure optimal support.
  • Explore and implement network automation tools to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Facilitate risk assessments and ensure adherence to relevant security standards and frameworks through effective security controls.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive network and security documentation in alignment with ISO compliance standards to support internal and external audits.
  • Develop project plans, allocate resources, and monitor milestones to ensure timely, secure, and compliant project execution.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (a plus).
  • 10+ years of experience in network administration with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong background in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting in large-scale environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
  • Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE are preferred.
