Job Summary:
The Network Administrator will be the cornerstone of our IT operations, responsible for the maintenance, implementation, and troubleshooting of our network systems. This role requires a hands-on professional who will manage our service providers, procure necessary hardware, and provide essential technical support to all employees, ensuring seamless daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Management & Security:
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points).
- Monitor network performance and integrity; proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime.
- Implement and maintain robust security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and antivirus solutions.
- Perform regular network backups and disaster recovery operations.
- IT Procurement & Inventory:
- Source, evaluate, and arrange procurement of all network accessories, hardware, and software.
- Manage IT inventory, ensuring adequate stock of critical spare parts and equipment.
- Liaise with vendors to get competitive quotes and ensure timely delivery.
- Service Provider Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for internet, software, and hardware service providers.
- Manage relationships, oversee service level agreements (SLAs), and escalate issues to ensure reliable service.
- Coordinate for new connections, upgrades, and troubleshooting with ISPs and other providers.
- Employee Support & Facilitation:
- Provide technical support to employees for network access, hardware, and software issues.
- Set up new user accounts, workstations, and email profiles.
- Conduct basic training for staff on new systems or software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues promptly to support uninterrupted workflow.
- System Maintenance:
- Perform regular system updates and upgrades.
- Maintain internal infrastructure, including servers, PCs, phones, and other network devices.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience (3-5 years) as a Network Administrator or similar role.
- Solid understanding of network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network hardware.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, internet VPN's remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
- Ability to manage multiple service providers and vendors effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to assist non-technical users.
- Professional certification (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) is a strong advantage.
