Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Credentialing Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will oversee the end-to-end provider credentialing and enrollment process with insurance companies and healthcare organizations. You will also play a key role in client communications, occasionally joining calls to address technical credentialing questions and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete credentialing and enrollment lifecycle, including applications, document collection, and submission to insurance payers and healthcare organizations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date provider records in systems such as CAQH, NPPES, PECOS, and payer portals, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Track credentialing status and proactively follow up with payers to expedite approvals.
  • Join client calls/meetings (pre-contract) to address credentialing-related questions and build client confidence.
  • Collaborate with billing, contracting, and operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding of providers.
  • Manage re-credentialing and re-enrollment for existing providers.
  • Stay updated on healthcare compliance standards, state laws, and payer requirements.
  • Support the contracting team in payer negotiations when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of proven experience in provider credentialing/enrollment in healthcare or medical billing.
  • Strong knowledge of CAQH, NPPES, PECOS, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial payer portals.
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards and payer credentialing rules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain credentialing processes to clients.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail; able to manage multiple applications simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards.
