The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof. In addition to the tertiary care hospital in Karachi, AKUH has a network of 4 secondary care hospitals, 30+ Medical Centres, and over 290+ Clinical Laboratories, 30+ Pharmacies in over 120+ cities across Pakistan. ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:
- demonstrate safe handling and proper use of equipment/supplies
- provide high quality personalized planned holistic nursing care to all assigned patients
- administer medication safely, apply knowledge of drug and dosages, and refer to the drug manual and/or pharmacy information as required
- monitor patients' responses to medication and timely communicate reportable findings
- counsel and educate patients on health behaviors
- demonstrate efficiency in use of electronic monitoring equipment
- demonstrate competence in patient assessment and care plan accordingly, and effectively work with multidisciplinary teams
- perform any other task assigned by supervisor.
You should have:
- a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN) with a valid PNC license
- at least one year of nursing experience, preferably at AKUH
- certification in BLS, CPR, Safe Medication Administration, I/V Canulation, ECG Interpretation and Aseptic Techniques
- availability for a minimum 32 hours or 4 shifts per month
- readiness to work at any clinical unit of the hospital as per staffing needs
- good interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
- willingness to sign-off an initial contract of one year and work in all shift duties.
