​Position Summary:

​We are looking for a compassionate and highly proficient Female Nurse with exceptional skills in pediatric intravenous (IV) therapy. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully performing IV cannulation on infants, children, and adolescents, including those with difficult venous access.

​You will be a vital member of our critical care team, responsible for administering IV medications and fluids, monitoring patient well-being, and providing comfort and support to young patients and their anxious parents. Your expertise will directly contribute to reducing patient distress and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of treatment.

​Key Responsibilities:

• ​Assess pediatric patients to determine the most appropriate IV access site and method.
• ​Perform peripheral IV cannulation on patients of all pediatric age groups (neonates, infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents) with a high degree of proficiency.
• ​Administer prescribed intravenous medications, fluids, blood products, and other therapies, ensuring correct dosage calculations.
• ​Manage and maintain various types of vascular access devices, including peripheral lines and central venous catheters (if applicable).
• ​Monitor patients for adverse reactions, infiltration, phlebitis, and other IV-related complications.
• ​Provide clear and gentle explanations of procedures to patients (age-appropriately) and their parents/guardians to alleviate fear and anxiety.
• ​Collaborate effectively with pediatricians, surgeons, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
• ​Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all procedures, patient assessments, and interventions in the hospital's information system.
• ​Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, safety standards, and institutional policies.

​Qualifications and Skills:

• ​Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a Diploma in General Nursing from a recognized institution.
• ​Licensure: Must hold a valid and current license to practice from the Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC).
• ​Experience:
• ​A minimum of 3 years of overall nursing experience.
• ​At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a pediatric ward, PICU, or NICU is essential.
• ​Demonstrable expertise and extensive experience in pediatric IV insertion is a mandatory requirement.
