About the Role:

We are seeking a
Functional Consultant- ECL Modelling
to join our finance and risk analytics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and validation of Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models in compliance with IFRS 9 requirements. This role involves close collaboration with business, finance, and IT teams to ensure accurate provisioning, model documentation, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, development, and enhancement of ECL models (PD, LGD, EAD) for various portfolios.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to define functional requirements and ensure alignment with IFRS 9 standards.
  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into model specifications and system functionalities.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and analysis to ensure model accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for ECL system enhancements and integrations.
  • Assist in the preparation of model documentation, governance reports, and regulatory submissions.
  • Analyze and interpret credit risk data and trends to support decision-making and control frameworks.
  • Work closely with stakeholders in Finance, Risk, and IT for implementation and ongoing monitoring of ECL models.
  • Provide ongoing functional support for ECL systems, including troubleshooting and user training.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in ECL modelling, IFRS 9 implementation, or credit risk analytics.
  • Prior experience in banking, consulting, or financial services is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS 9, ECL concepts (PD, LGD, EAD), and credit risk frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with financial modelling tools and data analysis (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, SAS, R).
  • Exposure to ECL automation platforms or risk modelling systems (e.g., Moody's, SAS Risk Solutions, Oracle, etc.) is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
