About the Role:

We are looking for a QA Engineer – Database & SQL Testing with strong expertise in AWS Data Warehousing to ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of data across our cloud platform. This role involves validating complex SQL logic, database structures, and data flows, and ensuring that ETL processes and data pipelines built on AWS services (such as Redshift, Glue, Athena, S3, and DMS) meet business and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test data pipelines and ETL processes on AWS (Redshift, Glue, Athena, S3).
  • Write and run complex SQL queries to validate data and business logic.
  • Perform data quality checks (duplicates, nulls, schema, row counts).
  • Test CDC pipelines using DMS and Glue.
  • Validate workflows implemented using AWS Step Functions and Lambda functions.
  • Automate data testing using Python or tools like Great Expectations or dbt.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines and log/report defects.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security rules.

Requirements:

  • 3–6 years in Database/ETL/Data Warehouse testing.
  • Strong SQL skills (joins, window functions, aggregations).
  • Hands-on with AWS services: Redshift, Glue, Athena, S3.
  • Experience with data testing frameworks and automation (Python, Pytest).
  • Familiar with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience testing workflows involving AWS Step Functions and Lambda.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Azure Synapse.
  • BI tools knowledge (Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight).
  • Familiar with Agile, JIRA, and Confluence.
