Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented UK Bookkeeping and Payroll Associate to join our Islamabad operations team. In this role, you will maintain accurate financial records and manage complete UK payroll processing for our clients, working directly with UK-based managers and clients. This position requires precision, strong organisational skills, and proven UK payroll experience. Comprehensive training on our systems and processes will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Record Keeping

● Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for UK clients in compliance with HMRC standards

● Process and record bank transactions, invoices, expenses, accounts payable and receivable

● Reconcile bank statements and perform ledger reconciliations with precision

● Assist with VAT preparation and basic financial reporting as directed

● Prepare financial summaries and assist in producing management reports

● Support compliance-related financial documentation

● Maintain organised, audit-ready client documentation

UK Payroll Processing

● Manage end-to-end UK payroll using BrightPay for weekly and monthly pay runs

● Process new starters, maintain employee records, and manage PAYE registrations

● Process timesheets, calculate national minimum wage compliance, and verify pay rates

● Perform accurate gross pay and net pay calculations, including PAYE, National Insurance (Employer and

Employee), and voluntary deductions

● Complete Real Time Information (RTI) submissions accurately and within HMRC deadlines

● Process statutory payments: holiday pay, statutory sick pay (SSP), and statutory maternity pay (SMP)

● Generate and distribute payslips and prepare net pay summaries

● Handle employee leavers and issue P45s promptly

● Administer workplace pension auto-enrolment and manage pension contribution submissions

● Oversee year-end procedures, including issuing P60s

● Communicate regularly with UK employers to resolve payroll-related inquiries

● Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and errors efficiently

● Create payroll backups and restore data as needed to ensure business continuity

Client Communication & Coordination

● Communicate professionally with UK clients and employers via email, phone, and video calls to gather financial and payroll information

● Liaise with clients to clarify accounting and payroll queries promptly

● Respond to client inquiries and ensure timely information submission

● Maintain strong client relationships through clear, professional communication

Compliance & Quality

● Uphold strict confidentiality in all financial and payroll matters

● Ensure all tasks meet UK compliance standards, HMRC regulations, and internal quality benchmarks

● Support payroll and compliance teams with administrative and financial data entry tasks as needed

● Support continuous improvements to accounting and payroll processes

● Meet all deadlines consistently and manage multiple client workloads effectively

What You'll Bring

Education

● Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field

● OR equivalent professional qualification (ACCA, AAT) or relevant experience

● Additional accounting or payroll certifications are a plus

Experience

● 2-3 years of hands-on experience in bookkeeping and/or payroll (multi-client environment preferred)

● UK payroll experience is mandatory – must have working knowledge of PAYE, RTI, National Insurance, statutory payments, and pension auto-enrolment

● Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage

● Proficiency in BrightPay or similar UK payroll software is highly advantageous

● Practice/accounting firm environment experience is preferred

Required Skills

● Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping best practices

● Solid working knowledge of UK payroll regulations (PAYE, RTI, NI, auto-enrolment)

● Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all work

● Excellent organisational and time management skills

● English communication skills (written and verbal) for confident client interaction if required

● Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage deadlines across multiple clients

● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office software

What We Offer

Compensation & Benefits

● Competitive monthly salary: PKR 140,000 to 170,000 (based on experience and qualifications)

● Performance-based bonus: Up to 100% of basic salary, every 6 months

● 22 days of annual leave plus all UK bank holidays after probation.

Work Arrangement

● Location: On-site in Islamabad, Pakistan
