Some Slight Clothing is a premium, anime-inspired athletic apparel brand, blending high-quality performance wear with subtle, creative designs for fitness enthusiasts. As we move into an exciting new chapter—including a full rebrand and the launch of a preorder program—we're looking for a Merchandiser to own our manufacturing PO process from end to end.

Role Overview

As Merchandiser, you'll be the operational heartbeat of our new preorder system. You'll manage manufacturing POs from the moment they're received (whether from inventory projections or customer preorders) to the day products ship out to our 3PL or customers. You'll work closely with design, production, and fulfillment teams, ensuring inventory is always aligned with demand, especially as we scale and experiment with new drops and preorder campaigns.

Key ResponsibilitiesPurchase Order (PO) Management

• Create, track, and manage all manufacturing POs, including those generated from preorder campaigns and regular inventory planning.
• Liaise with suppliers and our in-house manufacturing team to confirm production timelines, quantities, and specifications.
• Monitor the status of all open POs and proactively address delays, quality issues, or changes in requirements.
• Ensure all POs are accurately documented and updated in our systems (Shopify, spreadsheets, or ERP).

Preorder Fulfillment Coordination

• Use Shopify and our customer support teams to translate preorder demand into accurate production schedules.
• Track preorder fulfillment status and ensure timely communication with customers regarding expected delivery windows.
• Coordinate logistics for preorder items, including shipping to 3PL and direct-to-customer shipments as needed.

Inventory & Stock Management

• Monitor stock levels to avoid both overstock and out-of-stock situations.
• Analyze sales, preorder data, and inventory turnover to optimize reorder points and minimize dead stock.
• Support inventory reconciliation and cycle counts with the warehouse/3PL.

Production Coordination

• Communicate with manufacturers about production schedules, quality standards, and order changes.
• Troubleshoot delays, quality issues, or production bottlenecks.

Data & Process Management

• Maintain accurate records of orders, shipments, and inventory (using Shopify, Excel/Google Sheets, or ERP software).
• Look for ways to improve efficiency and reduce errors in the supply chain.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with design, marketing, e-commerce, and customer service teams to align inventory and production with sales campaigns and customer demand.

Supplier & Production Communication

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and logistics partners.
• Communicate design changes, quality requirements, and delivery expectations clearly.
• Troubleshoot production bottlenecks and escalate issues as needed.

Process Improvement

• Identify and implement process improvements for PO management, preorder execution, and inventory control.
• Help design scalable workflows as the brand grows and preorder volume increases.

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years experience in merchandising, supply chain, or production planning (apparel or consumer goods preferred).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing PO processes and inventory management.
• Experience coordinating with overseas factories and 3PLs is a plus.
• Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets; 
  Shopify experience is a strong plus

• Excellent communication skills—able to keep multiple stakeholders (internal and external) aligned and informed.
• Super organized, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment (bonus points for startup or DTC brand experience).
• Passion for streetwear, anime, or fitness apparel is a plus
