Software Development and Technical lead

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Lead/Project Manager to spearhead our PHP Laravel development initiatives. This role combines technical leadership with project management expertise to drive successful delivery of complex web applications while mentoring development teams and ensuring adherence to best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

• Lead and architect complex Laravel applications using modern development practices

• Design and implement scalable, secure RESTful APIs and microservices architecture

• Oversee database design and optimization using MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, and other data storage solutions

• Establish and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and development best practices

• Conduct comprehensive code reviews and ensure code quality across all team deliverables

• Drive adoption of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines

• Research and evaluate new technologies to enhance development efficiency and product quality

Project Management:

• Plan, execute, and deliver PHP Laravel projects within scope, timeline, and budget constraints

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including designers, QA engineers, and stakeholders

• Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies

• Facilitate agile development processes including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives

• Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and clients

• Ensure proper documentation of technical specifications and project deliverables

Team Leadership & Mentorship

• Lead and mentor a team of PHP developers, providing technical guidance and career development support

• Conduct technical interviews and participate in hiring decisions for development team expansion

• Foster a collaborative learning environment and promote knowledge sharing within the team

• Provide training on Laravel best practices, system design patterns, and emerging technologies

Client & Stakeholder Management:

• Interface directly with clients to understand requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions

• Present technical concepts and project progress to non-technical stakeholders

• Manage client expectations and ensure delivery meets or exceeds requirements

Requirements:

Technical Skills:

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with PHP and Laravel framework

• 5+ years in leadership roles managing development teams (5-10 developers)

• 3+ years of project management experience in software development

• Deep expertise in MVC architecture, OOP principles, and design patterns

• Advanced proficiency in MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, and database optimization

• Strong experience with RESTful API design, web security, and authentication systems

• Proficiency in frontend technologies: , , HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap

• Extensive experience with version control systems (Git/GitHub) and code review processes

• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS/Digitalocean)

• Experience with real-time data processing tools (Kafka, WebSockets)

Project Management Skills:

• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex web applications

• Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban)

• Proficiency in project management tools (Jira, Trello, Asana, Slack)

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)

• Experience with budget management and resource planning

Leadership & Communication:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities

• Proven ability to mentor junior and mid-level developers

• Experience in conducting technical presentations and workshops

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Requirements:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience

• PMP, Scrum Master, or similar project management certifications

• Experience in ecommerce platforms and marketplace integrations

• Knowledge of payment gateway integrations (CheckOut, Tabby, STC, Tamara etc)

• Experience with logistics and shipping platform integrations

• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (PHPUnit, Laravel Dusk)

• Experience with performance monitoring and optimization tools

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and infrastructure management
