Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, manage, and maintain PF Sense firewalls including VPNs, routing, traffic shaping, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Design, deploy, and support MikroTik routers and switches, ensuring optimal performance and network stability.
  • Implement network security protocols, monitoring tools, and access controls to safeguard company data.
  • Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of network issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Manage and optimize LAN, WAN, and VPN connectivity for remote and on-site users.
  • Conduct periodic system upgrades, firmware updates, and patch management.
  • Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, and security logs proactively.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to align networking solutions with organizational requirements.
  • Document network configurations, processes, and policies for future reference.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer or System/Network Administrator.
  • Strong expertise in PF Sense firewall configuration and management.
  • Hands-on experience with MikroTik routers, switches, and RouterOS.
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, VPN (IPSec, OpenVPN, L2TP), and QoS.
  • Strong understanding of network security best practices and firewall policies.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios, PRTG).
  • Relevant certifications such as MTCNA/MTCRE (MikroTik), CompTIA Network+, or CCNA are a plus
