About the Role

You'll be the first engineering hire and technical owner. Ship v1, set the architecture, and build a small A-team. Focus: AI agents for finance operations (AP/AR, invoicing, reconciliation), with strong security, auditability, and human-in-the-loop.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver a production-grade AI/agents platform (RAG, tool use, workflow orchestration).

  • Own backend/services (APIs, queues, storage), reliability (SLOs), and observability.

  • Build data pipelines, model serving, and evaluation/guardrails for accuracy and cost.

  • Implement multi-tenant security, PII handling, audit logs, and RBAC.

  • Hire/mentor 2–3 engineers.

Must-Have Skills

  • LLM/Agents:

LangChain/LlamaIndex (or equivalent), tool calling, RAG, prompt orchestration, eval frameworks (e.g., RAGAS/DeepEval).

  • Backend/Systems:

Python, REST/gRPC, event-driven design, Postgres, vector DBs (Faiss/Weaviate/Pinecone), caching, queues.

  • MLOps:

Model serving (vLLM/Ray/Triton), CI/CD, data pipelines (Airflow/Prefect), monitoring, AB/canary, cost controls.

  • Security & Compliance:

PII governance, secrets, encryption, audit trails, multi-tenant isolation.

  • Delivery:

Proven track record shipping production AI with metrics (latency, cost, accuracy).

  • Nice to Have
  • Basic Understandings of workflows in Finance, HR, Supply Chain and RevOps.
  • Finance/ERP exposure (SAP/Oracle/QuickBooks/Xero), document AI (OCR, schema extraction).
  • Kubernetes, cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), feature stores, Ray, streaming ETL.
  • SOC2/ISO experience and HITL workflow design.
