Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager (LV/MV Switchgear) to lead our Switchgear design team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in switchgear design, project execution, and team leadership. This role requires hands-on experience in developing and reviewing LV/MV switchgear designs, ensuring compliance with international standards, and delivering high-quality solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of 
    LV and MV switchgear systems
     in accordance with IEC, IEEE, and other relevant standards.
  • Review and approve design calculations, schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, and technical documents.
  • Collaborate with sales, projects, and production teams to provide technical support during bidding, project execution, and commissioning phases.
  • Manage and mentor the design team, ensuring skill development and adherence to best engineering practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards in all designs.
  • Conduct design optimization to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
  • Liaise with vendors, clients, and consultants for technical clarifications and approvals.
  • Drive innovation in switchgear design, keeping up to date with emerging technologies and standards.
  • Handle project timelines, resource allocation, and ensure on-time delivery of design packages.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in 
    Electrical Engineering
     (Master's preferred).
  • 6+ years
     of proven experience in LV/MV switchgear design and engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of 
    IEC, IEEE, ANSI
     standards related to switchgear.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar design/drafting tools.
  • Experience in short-circuit analysis, protection coordination, and load flow studies.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and team-handling skills.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
