Head of Accounts and Operations Role

The Head of Accounts and Operations will play a strategic leadership role within the fuel division, overseeing three critical departments: Fuel Pricing & Ordering, Finance, and Tank Reconciliation.

This role is responsible for ensuring seamless operations, financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and data-driven pricing strategies across all fuel-related activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership & Strategic Oversight: Lead cross-functional teams and manage interdepartmental workflows to drive efficiency and accountability.
  2. Operational Efficiency: Develop SOPs to streamline operations and improve interdepartmental workflows.
  3. Strategic Direction: Provide guidance for fuel procurement, financial reporting, and tank monitoring functions.
  4. Fuel Pricing & Ordering: Oversee daily and long-term fuel pricing strategies to maximize profitability and competitiveness.
  5. Finance (QuickBooks - Fuel): Supervise financial operations for the fuel division using QuickBooks and ensure timely reconciliation of accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and vendor payments.
  6. Tank Reconciliation (Fuel): Oversee fuel inventory management and reconciliation processes to ensure accurate tracking of fuel inflow/outflow and compliance with EPA and state regulations.
Qualifications
  1. Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (MBA/CPA/ACCA preferred).
  2. 7+ years of experience in operations and financial management, preferably in retail fuel/convenience store sector.
  3. Proven experience with QuickBooks and fuel inventory systems.
  4. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  5. Knowledge of fuel pricing models, vendor negotiations, and tank compliance standards.
Preferred Skills
  1. Experience with fuel POS, tank monitoring, and inventory management systems.
  2. Familiarity with environmental compliance standards for fuel storage and sales.
