The Aga Khan University Hospital is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof. In addition to the tertiary care hospital in Karachi, AKUH has a network of 4 Off-Campus hospitals, 30+ Medical Centres, and over 290+ Clinical Laboratories, 30+ Pharmacies in over 120+ cities across Pakistan. ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:
- assist supervisor in the day-to-day management of the Inpatient area and provide required clinical as well as administrative support
- teach and mentor new staff in the area and ensure that quality care is delivered to the patients
- meet consultants frequently to discuss patient care related issues and improvements required
- coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of patient care
- assess patient care and acuity trends, plan and manage unit, make staffing arrangements and ensure availability of required supplies, equipment and other resources
- propose initiatives to review concepts of Quality Improvement in Nursing Practice (QINP) and implement the required changes in the current procedures and practice.
You should have:
- a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited school and a valid PNC license.
- American Health Association (AHA) certification in BLS and ACLS, preferably with Instructor post-basic course in at least one clinical specialty
- at least three years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in critical care areas
- in-depth knowledge of nursing policies and processes
- good interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
- excellent ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
