Sales Assistant Manager

Essential Job Functions

  1. Meet the monthly and annual sales quota as designated by the manager.
  2. Organize workflow and ensure that sales team understand their duties and delegated tasks.
  3. Assist the Branch Manager in leading, supporting, and motivating sales team to achieve the overall corporate sales objectives.
  4. Understand customer needs and offer solutions and support.
  5. Train and coach the sales team by providing constructive feedback and monitoring employee productivity.
  6. Ensure the sales team collects payment and performs data entry tasks in a timely manner while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  7. Ensure that all employees adhere to Company policies and procedures.
  8. Visit customers and potential customers to provide support, information, and sell the Company's products.
  9. Cooperate with accounting department to ensure the invoice payment is received in time.
  10. Coordinate urgent deliveries with the customer to accommodate their needs.
  11. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and building rapport.
  12. Educate customers on how the products or services can benefit them.
  13. Input and update orders within the Company database accordingly.
  14. Maintain and safely operate the Company vehicle as per the Company Vehicle Policy.
  15. Participate in the weekly sales meetings.
  16. Attend semiannual inventory count on designated day, possibly on a weekend.
  17. Attend Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
  18. Other duties as required from manager.
  19. Obligation to answer to all management as requested.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to drive for a majority of the daily working hours.
  • Ability to sit in a car for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to perform data entry tasks and take orders.
  • Ability to talk, hear, smell, taste, stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Working Conditions: Noise Level: Normal to loud; Location: Indoor in the office or at customer sites (restaurants, wholesalers, distributors, etc.), traveling.

Other Requirements

  • Basic level in English Reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Native level in Japanese reading/speaking/listening/writing required.
  • To have and maintain a clean driving record in the latest 3 years.
  • Pass the Sake Adviser course within 1 year of employment.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload.
  • High School Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree and above preferred.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience required. 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Basic mathematical knowledge – markups, discounts, combining/converting measurements, counting inventory, etc.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Time and priority management skills.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Japanese foods and sakes preferred.
