Job Responsibilities:

  1. To deal with foreign and local vendors for the supplies of material/parts for multi projects. Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, or freight forwarders.
  2. To work out for the attenuation of costs through simplification, standardization, deletion programs & import substitution, in consultation with the engineering department for cost reduction.
  3. Responsible for reviewing and finalizing all procurement and purchase documents & pursuing suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries.
  4. To update all necessary documentation & keep track of final end ensuring timely payment of suppliers against deliveries.
  5. Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements & develop required action plans for continuous performance improvement. Appraise vendor manufacturing ability through on-site visits and measurements.
  6. To look after all activities of import supplies i.e. Purchase orders, remittances / LCs opening & arranging shipments for the timely arrival of material.
  7. To co-ordinate with finance / clearing agents for the timely clearance of imported goods/material after arrival.
  8. Responsible for building strategic alliances with stakeholders.
  9. Discover the most profitable suppliers and initiate business partnerships.
  10. To control purchase orders & arrange standard quality material as per production requirements to ensure material availability at the right time.
  11. Manage all matters related to imports and handle all correspondence of imports directly.
  12. Arrangement of LCs and freight for import shipments.
  13. Report procurement status to management.
Job Specification

Automobile Corporation of Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd is looking for a Manager Supply Chain – Imports for its Karachi office. The required qualification is an MBA in Supply Chain, preferably with an engineering (mechanical/industrial) background. Required experience is at least 5 years (preferably in the automotive sector). The candidate must be hands-on with supply chain functions, particularly import handling, and possess excellent communication skills as he/she needs to correspond with foreign vendors.
