General Summary:
The EMEA Payroll Staff will support the Qualcomm EMEA Payroll function, its processes, and internal or external relationships with General Accounting, Human Resources, Legal, Benefits, Employee Relations, Stock Programs, IT, Tax Auditors, ADP, and other related entities. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining processes that will contribute to efficient payroll processing for 5,000+ employees across multiple EMEA countries. The position reports to the Payroll Manager in Hyderabad and involves coaching junior team members. The ideal candidate has 12+ years of experience, including at least 3+ years in people management, with demonstrated expertise in multi-country payroll processes and effective communication skills for a global team.
Responsibilities:- Own the operations of EMEA payroll for countries such as the UK, Ireland, France, Sweden, Netherlands, etc., including managing payroll processing, ESPP and RSU reporting, benefits, tax, and social insurance requirements.
- Review and approve monthly payrolls for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Ensure operational controls around critical payroll processes like new hires, terminations, and one-time payments.
- Collaborate with the global payroll team and partners on processing, initiatives, and projects.
- Analyze payroll processes for improvements and ensure global consistency where applicable.
- Liaise with external auditors and manage payroll audits.
- Perform special projects and analyses as directed by management.
- Monitor payroll KPIs and lead initiatives to improve them.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent foundation degree.
- Certified Payroll Professional certification (preferred).
- 10-12 years of payroll experience across EMEA countries.
- Experience mentoring junior team members.
- Experience in a multinational organization.
- Expertise with ADP Global View and Workday.
- Strong understanding of payroll systems, data workflows, and root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of tax, social security, and compliance requirements across EMEA.
- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
- Knowledge of taxable/non-taxable earnings, payroll taxes, and employee benefits.
- Experience designing processes, controls, and systems.
- Understanding of equity transactions like RSU and ESPP.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- High accuracy, attention to detail, and strong Excel skills.
- Knowledge of payroll accounting and reconciliations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Master's degree in accounting.
- Proficiency in French or other European languages.
- Hands-on experience with payroll in France, Sweden, UK.
- Payroll certification (a plus).
- Experience with ADP Global View implementation projects.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions.
