Position Overview

As a Career Counselor for US, UK, and Canadian Applications at Kaizen High School, you will provide personalized guidance and support to students aspiring to pursue higher education in these regions. Your expertise will help them make informed decisions, craft compelling applications, and gain admission to universities that match their goals and potential.

Responsibilities:

1. Student Guidance:

- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to understand their academic interests, strengths, and aspirations.

- Provide expert advice on suitable universities, programs, and pathways in the US, UK, and Canada based on individual profiles.

- Guide students through the application process, including university selection, document preparation, and essay writing.

- Assist students in showcasing their accomplishments and unique qualities to stand out in competitive admissions.

- Familiarize students with standardized tests required for admission, such as SAT, ACT, IELTS, and TOEFL.

- Offer strategies and resources to help students prepare effectively for these exams.

4. Essay and Personal Statement Review:

- Review and provide feedback on students' essays, personal statements, and application materials to ensure clarity, coherence, and authenticity.

5. Application Submission:

- Collaborate with students to ensure all application components are submitted accurately and within deadlines.

- Monitor the progress of applications and address any issues that may arise.

6. Scholarship and Financial Aid:

- Advise students on scholarship opportunities and financial aid options available in the US, UK, and Canada.

- Assist students in understanding application requirements for merit-based and need-based scholarships.

7. Cultural Transition:

- Provide information and resources to help students prepare for the cultural transition to their chosen destination.

- Address concerns related to adapting to a new academic and social environment.

8. Stay Updated:

- Stay abreast of changes in admission criteria, visa regulations, and educational trends in the US, UK, and Canada.

- Attend relevant workshops, seminars, and training to maintain up-to-date knowledge.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

- Proven experience in counseling students for US, UK, and Canadian university applications.

- Strong knowledge of admission processes, requirements, and trends in these regions.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

- Ethical approach to handling confidential student information.
