About the Position:
The Chief Medical Officer is a key member of the Core Management Team of the Hospital's Health Services, involved in defining the overall strategy and direction. As Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs, the incumbent will be part of the Medical College leadership.
This role provides medical oversight, expertise, and leadership to ensure the delivery of affordable, high-quality healthcare. Responsibilities include developing and implementing innovative clinical programs through collaboration with internal and external strategic partners.
The CMO will lead the clinical vision of the organization and guide hospital departments to ensure high standards of care and affordability.
Job Role / Responsibilities:
- Oversee credentialing and privileging of faculty, chair the Credentialing Committee, and ensure faculty attain and maintain privileges.
- Evaluate and update policies in line with international standards.
- Supervise medical records review, accreditation, and certifications, including JCI accreditation.
- Foster a strong academic and service environment across campuses.
- Oversee infection prevention and control measures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Improve patient experience, monitor care-related events, and address patient complaints and incidents.
- Manage risk and medico-legal issues, and measure clinical outcomes.
- Ensure quality bedside teaching and 24/7 medical coverage, coordinating with educational programs.
- Support undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, collaborating with relevant academic committees.
Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:
- Medical degree, preferably MBBS, from a recognized institution.
- Valid medical license (PMDC).
- Academic rank of Associate Professor or higher, with at least 10 years of clinical experience, including 5 years in leadership.
- Experience in clinical risk management is advantageous.
- Strategic thinker with strong communication skills and a track record of leadership and collaboration.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment and drive change.
