Working Schedule: 9:00 to 6:00 pm OR 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Karachi Division for a Library Assistant. The Library Assistant will be responsible for a range of day-to-day tasks including assisting with library services, managing circulation, organizing materials, and supporting library patrons. The role involves working closely with library staff to ensure efficient operations and providing excellent customer service to all patrons.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage discipline within the library and assist patrons.
  • Book processing, scanning, cataloguing, and maintaining digital records.
  • Maintain a donation list, including donor records, donation filing, and tagging donated materials.
  • Shelve materials accurately and maintain orderly stacks.
  • Conduct periodic inventory checks and assist in weeding damaged materials.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Intermediate and Library Science education diploma or short course.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a library or academic setting is preferred.
  • At least one year of relevant experience.
