Media Planner

EssenceMediacom is an agency of GroupM, the world's largest media investment company and a part of WPP. We are currently looking for a Media Planner to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for all tasks and client service activities associated with an assigned brand/account. You will act as a steward of the entire communications planning process by providing pillars for media plans, executing plan changes, and maintaining media plans.

In this role, your goals will be:

In three months:

  1. Being up to speed with cutting-edge proprietary planning tools and able to extract and analyze important data; validating our recommendations.
  2. You would have a pulse on the business category & knowledge of the competitive frame.
  3. Worked on moderately scaled live campaigns.
  4. Initiated contact with key media partners and understood the baseline of their offerings, particularly TV/conventional streams.
  5. Connected with internal specialists & external stakeholder units to integrate solutions.
  6. Comprehended and applied our proprietary planning framework model in key campaigns.
  7. Landed live, larger scaled campaigns on conventional platforms.
  8. Started building relationships with key decision-makers within the current client portfolio.
  9. Mastered a flawless media execution process, working alongside various stakeholders.

In 12 months:

  1. Develop a strong category acumen from a media and business point of view.
  2. Identify a pipeline of commercially viable solutions to support our client's goals.
  3. Create and execute a pipeline of exciting business-building ideas which could potentially be industry award-winning.

What your day looks like at EssenceMediacom:

  1. Develop and maintain media plans.
  2. Assist Senior Media Planner in devising strategy for the brand.
  3. Review and update purchase orders within the execution framework.
  4. Ensure all campaign efficiencies are achieved by analyzing campaigns and recommending tactical changes to maximize campaign performance.
  5. Interact with media suppliers to work on upcoming opportunities.
  6. Prepare and update media reports for internal and external stakeholders (i.e., post buys, droppage reconciliation, PIBs, double spotting, SOV Tracker).
  7. Present plans both internally and externally.
  8. Monitor client billing.
  9. Supervise the Assistant Media Planner in creating, updating, and executing media plans.
  10. Assist Senior Planners in preparing quarterly, semi-annual, and yearly reviews.
  11. Work with cross-functional departments/teams as part of the media management process.
  12. Respond to client day-to-day requests.

What you need to bring:

  1. Strong organizational and numeracy skills.
  2. Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
  3. Proficient in MS Excel.
  4. Respect for hierarchy and follow a complete chain for assignments.
  5. Excellent personal/organizational management.
  6. Able to set and meet multiple demands within challenging deadlines.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to communicate effectively at all levels, internally/externally, formally & informally.
  8. BBA/MBA from a reputable university or equivalent.
  9. At least 2 years of experience in conventional media/marketing.
