About the role:

As Head of Analytics in Technology Division, you will be responsible for the complete Analytics of Technology function within Telenor Pakistan. You will be responsible for managing Analytics Architecture, Information Enablement, Development, Data Quality Assurance, Platform Operations & Services delivery, designing new use cases in collaboration with business, Project governance of the complete Analytics eco-system and partner management.

Keeping in view the future strategic ambition of Telenor, this is a key position that will enable data democratization and enable the right set of governance principles working towards a roadmap together with business teams for data driven decision making and using advanced capabilities to drive revenues and value creation.

Your Impactful Goals will include:

  • Drive strong governance structure as a technology enabler within the teams and enable partnership model with key stakeholders within the organization and develop/enhance the culture of utilizing data maintaining close co-ordination with other functional units e.g. Business Intelligence, Segments, marketing, B2B, Digital, Circles, Finance, Regulatory and Technology functions
  • Ensure smooth operations of Analytics Technology platforms delivering on the SLAs agreed with business & technology partner. Establish proactive maintenance controls for sustainable platform operations.
  • Develop advanced use cases on top of data utilizing the analytics stack capabilities and provide thought leadership by identifying new/additional analytics that would support the business ambitions and insights.
  • Strong partner governance and engagement to ensure continuous smooth operations and timely delivery of daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports. Manage service delivery through Service Design, Development and Delivery Partners and ensure a coherent operating model with right set of governance functions and oversight.
  • Establish a strong governance function with the technology partner(s) ensuring adherence to established processes & business priorities.
  • Deliver a future ready Analytics architecture enabling self-service and advanced capabilities in line with global architecture & information security principles.
  • Establish competency models, enable ML/AI driven customer & price modeling and scale analytics models with Analytical workbench
  • Stitch digital interaction data with GSM data to create 360 customer view of business and customers.
  • Increase relevance & intelligence in customer platforms utilizing APIs Hubs.
  • Enhance the capabilities of contextual marketing platforms to help business improve customer engagement and retention
  • Enable capabilities and new data point integrations to deliver on personalization ambitions for the company both in terms of interactions as well as supporting business on revenue targets. And deploy new use cases to enhance customer experience by being more relevant both in offering as well as channel preferences.
  • Enable disruptive technology capabilities to Analyze data to support business in how we can improve the efficiency & develop different set of campaigns for multiple segments.
  • Bring alternative technology view to handling common business problems requiring data insights and 360-degree view.
  • Enable technical capabilities for the business to hack into current CLM & contextual operations suggesting innovative ideas.
  • Work with Business Intelligence team to enable new capabilities and data insights to develop models like behavioral segmentation, churn prediction models, social network analysis, cross sell/up-sell models, new data sourcing to improve quality of campaigns.

Your Typical Day will look like:

  • Translate business opportunities into analytical technology requirements and deliver the output to the business through concise insights as per the business need to support commercial Circle & Segments operations.
  • Governance and stakeholder management for development, reporting & operational issues.
  • Conduct regular update sessions with all stakeholders to keep them updated on the current progress and plans
  • Mobilize and enable the team to come up with ideas for enhancements/improvements as well as innovation in the technology domain
  • Manage & prioritize business requirements & reporting needs ensuring on time deliveries and quality output. Analyzing various business needs with respect to configurations, product developments, integrations and security.
  • Enable automation of processes & reporting to reduce manual work and enable efficiency and enhance time to deliver.
  • Continuous improvement in the way we serve the internal customers.
  • Chair weekly meetings with business stakeholders and maintaining a clear plan of actions to address issues.
  • Work with business to align future data strategy and extract business value from existing artifacts.

What we're looking for:

Education: Master's/ Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering

Work experience: 12+ years of experience in the field of DWH, BI, and Analytics. Should have an understanding of large-scale IT Platforms/systems with focus on telecom specific business processes/technologies. Have an understanding of Telecom-Customer business processes in one or more areas such as CRM domain, Supply Chain/Inventory, Order Management, Retail/Business Partner Management, Integration, Provisioning/Fulfillment.

  • Must have pragmatic experience on SQL (Teradata/Vertica/Hive/Postgres/SparkSQL)
  • Must have experience on Qlik/SAP BO reporting tools
  • Must have pragmatic experience in ETL pipeline development
  • Must be able to demonstrate technical and business process optimization
  • Must have experience of delivering enterprise-wide Analytics projects in Telecom sector
  • Proven record of managing BI operations with strict SLAs
  • Possess Good people management skills and able to provide leadership to team through coaching, feedback, development goals, performance management and good practitioner of Telenor Values.
