Lahore,Job Summary:The Assistant Copywriter is primarily responsible for writing The Children's Place and Gymboree website product copy. This role is part of the Creative Marketing team and collaborates closely with all our cross-channel partners including designers, merchants and digital marketing teams. The Assistant Copywriter assists the copy team as needed with writing and proofreading content across customer-facing brand experiences including: in-store seasonal signage, email, marketing campaigns (gift card, loyalty, credit card, coupons) website experience, App, social media posts/campaigns.
Responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Focus on writing and editing effective retail product copy (product names, descriptions, and features) using The Children's Place standardized product guide and brand voice
  • Translate merchant language from PLM and fashion trends into consumer-friendly copy that is clear and concise
  • Form internal partnerships, including teams in design, merchandising, and marketing, in order to attain and communicate key product initiatives
  • Ensure that product copy on website is accurate and updated at all times
  • Track product copy progress, samples and upcoming deadlines
  • Ability to pinpoint inaccurate information and discrepancies in product information/samples and communicate to marketing partners
  • Write and edit copy in a timely manner when receiving requests from our eComm partners
  • Assist copy team with projects within all channels and partner with graphic designers and marketing to ensure all objectives and timelines are met
  • Proof iterations of marketing deliverables such as direct mail pieces, in-store marketing, corporate projects and editorial content for the website
  • Support evolving the brand copy (product descriptions/editorial language) by assisting with competitor research and analysis
  • Maintain and update copy library to ensure consistency in all materials across the brand

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Writing, Communications or related field
  • Excellent grammar and proofing skills
  • 1-2 years in product copywriting
  • Knowledge of the retail world
  • The ability to write fast and accurate product descriptions
  • Patience and creative flexibility to revise your work and take on new projects as directed

Skills and Behaviors:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong proofreading and research skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; InDesign and Photoshop a plus
  • Knowledge of and ability to use various media channels
  • Must be internet savvy, particularly in e-tailing and following email marketing trends
  • Ability to work towards multiple deadlines with shifting priorities
