As our Assistant Copywriter, you will be primarily responsible for writing, editing and tracking e-commerce product copy across The Children's Place and Gymboree websites, as well as their respective presence on third-party platforms like Amazon & Walmart. You'll be a key player in delivering product copy in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Write and edit clear, accurate and effective website product copy descriptions every season, ensuring brand consistency using our Master Product Copy guide
  • Collaborate with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing and Marketing teams to attain and communicate key product initiatives and product lifecycle experience
  • Audit website regularly to ensure product copy is accurate, consistent and updated at all times
  • Respond to in-season product copy edits from Ecom partners swiftly and accurately
  • Track product copy progress and upcoming deadlines
  • Partner with Digital Marketing team to conduct keyword research, identify relevant & optimized content for search engines, increase visibility of brands/products, track performance & effectiveness of copy and adjusting as needed
  • Help maintain and organize Master Product Copy Guide with the latest brand writing standards

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • 1-3+ years in a product copywriting role (fashion, retail or lifestyle brands a plus)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in English, Writing, Journalism, Communications, Fashion or related field preferred
  • Retail experience and/or strong knowledge of fashion & retail industry standards

Skills

  • Excellent grammar, writing, proofreading and communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and with strong problem-solving instincts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Product Lifecycle Management and Product Inventory Management tools
  • Flexibility/ability to work in a fast-paced, multiple deadline-driven environment without sacrificing quality
  • A collaborative spirit and good sense of fun—you'll be working on a brand for kids after all
