We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a passion for finance, who is willing to coordinate and process all aspects of credit control whilst providing support to the finance team and working closely with the Credit Control Manager. You will be working in a busy finance department and will be responsible for chasing overdue invoices, dealing with invoice queries, answering emails, and the telephone. As this is a junior role, full training will be provided, and the ideal candidate will be someone who is eager to learn about credit control and finance. However, some credit control/finance experience is desirable. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience within a busy finance function or to take their first steps into a career in credit control.

The Job
  1. Collecting due and overdue debts
  2. Contacting individuals or business customers when payment is overdue
  3. Processing payments and updating our bespoke system accurately once payment is received
  4. Identifying potential bad debts and escalating these to the Credit Control Manager as required
  5. Processing and generating reminder letters and statements
  6. Dealing with customer queries effectively
  7. Actively driving the reduction in invoice queries within the wider business
  8. Highlighting any issues to the Credit Control Manager that may impact cash collection
  9. Providing a high standard of customer service at all times
  10. Providing timely and accurate reports to the business
  11. General administration within the finance department as and when required
About You
  1. AAT qualification or working towards is desirable but not essential
  2. Recently graduated with a BA in Accounting and Finance, or similar
  3. Strong and confident telephone manner
  4. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and time management skills
  5. Hands-on approach
  6. Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  7. Solid IT skills and technology-savvy
  8. Ability to make decisions using good judgment quickly and efficiently
  9. Ability to work under own initiative
  10. Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity at all times
