1. Core Purpose

Implements specific projects including budget management, programme design, development, project monitoring, and supports programme evaluations.

Education, Knowledge & Professional Experience
  • Relevant qualification, e.g., Graduation / Masters / MBA / Master in Project Management, preferred
  • 2+ years of professional experience in implementing, planning, managing, and evaluating international development programmes with government, NGOs, and other development organizations, preferably with eye health experience
  • Good knowledge of international development work and understanding of inclusive Project Cycle Management (iPCM)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience with INGOs supported programmes, particularly in health & eye health
  • Strong understanding of financial management
  • Experience and understanding of Community Based Inclusive Development
  • Knowledge of widely followed programming principles and priorities
  • Experience working with people with disabilities is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel and work long hours when necessary
  • Commitment to organizational values and safeguarding/child protection policies
  • Expertise in managing project-related finances
Languages
  • English (professional proficiency)
  • Local/regional language (professional proficiency or advantageous)
Tools
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with Eye Health Software

3. Overall Objective

As a proactive member of the Programme Team, contribute to project implementation according to the log frame. Manage and develop current partnerships and projects, providing input and recommendations on good development and disability practices when necessary.

4. Main Activities
Key Role
  • Implement project activities at the district level
Budget Administration
  • Monitor and coordinate transfer of funds or goods, ensuring timely acknowledgment
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project progress
Team/Project Management
  • Transform relationships among stakeholders and the organization
  • Ensure compliance with accountability and quality standards
  • Ensure project team adherence to organizational regulations
  • Conduct periodic reviews to monitor implementation and evaluate success
  • Coordinate donor/project visits, prepare logistics and reports
  • Document and share lessons learned and case studies
  • Work with partners to promote project sustainability
  • Liaise with government officials, NGOs, and stakeholders as needed
  • Coordinate with consultants if required
  • Identify needs and implement capacity development activities
