Responsibilities
  1. Evaluates and tests new software applications according to business and functional requirements.
  2. Acts as a lead in the creation, preparation, and conduct of quality reviews and the development and execution of test plans and test scripts.
  3. Applies test methodology, engineering and product knowledge in the design of tests and testing strategies for the analysis and certification of products.
  4. Functions as a subject matter expert in the testing discipline with an in-depth understanding of software testing techniques, practices, policies, and procedures.
  5. Coaches others on various testing approaches and techniques, providing functional, black-box, and user acceptance testing expertise.
  6. Utilizes in-depth understanding of business flow, interconnections of business processes, common system usage patterns, and compliance requirements to exercise the system under test.
  7. Influences software and/or systems development decisions by reviewing work and providing recommendations for design or testing approach.
  8. Defines and executes test plans.
  9. Communicates effectively to ensure that all business requirements are being assessed and addressed to meet or exceed performance targets.
  10. Participates in all activities to ensure on-time deliverables are met, including day-to-day planning and coordination with Testers and Developers.
  11. Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  12. Works with product designers and developers at all stages to promote quality.
  13. Produces test plans and ensures they are followed.
  14. Assigns work to junior QA/QC Engineers.
  15. Produces and prioritizes bug reports.
  16. Reproduces bug reports from the field and writes clear steps to reproduce.
  17. Verifies that load, scalability, and performance requirements have been met.
  18. Works with developers to perform root-cause analysis and preliminary problem diagnosis.
  19. Strong knowledge of ISO and QMS (Quality Management System) or CMMi.
Job Specification
  1. Must have min 05 years experience for Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer, Min 03 years experience for Quality Assurance Engineer, and Fresh/01 year experience for Jr. Quality Assurance Engineer in quality control / quality assurance.
  2. Must have high proficiency in SQL, PL-SQL, AJAX, XHTML, DHTML, XML, UML, MS Visio.
  3. Must have profound knowledge of Software Quality Assurance and Software Testing principles and standards.
  4. Must have good communication skills.
  5. Ability to organize and lead testing efforts.
  6. Ability to write a test approach/strategy.
  7. Ability to conduct test risk analysis.
  8. Understanding of SQL Queries, Views, and Stored Procedures.
  9. Experience with basic testing types including: Component (Black Box), Security, Usability, Web Services, Mainframe, Database, and Desktop/Client.
  10. Excellent communication skills required to document and report on defects and other software issues.
  11. Strong problem-solving ability.
  12. Programming knowledge of Java is an asset.
  13. Experience with web-based database applications preferred.
  14. Experience with VMware preferred.
  15. Experience with automation tools would be a plus.
  16. Experience with MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle ideal.
