Manager Digital Apps

Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Global Consumer Materials Category Management, as a Category Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that business units have goods and services to operate at the most competitive cost. In this role, you directly impact Sonoco's cost structure and profit and loss (P&L). You will lead the development of cost reduction, process improvement, and productivity projects. Additionally, you will align with the business unit to identify, develop, and execute category strategies across your assigned area to support customers at the best value for Sonoco.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Create a clear vision and develop long-term strategic plans for the specific category spend area to support overarching category plans.
2. Ensure that the category strategies are highly aligned with current and future business needs and that the supply base can support these strategies.
3. Drive communication and reporting of strategy to keep internal clients informed of progress and benefits.
4. Identify and initiate focused projects (sourcing, demand management, etc.) and manage the pipeline of projects within selected categories to meet results targets.
5. Engage the strategic sourcing and tactical sourcing teams to drive execution of projects supporting category strategies.
6. Lead supplier relationship management for strategic suppliers within the category.
7. Define KPIs and targets, and manage scorecards.
8. Become a subject matter expert in this functional area, providing commodity knowledge on spend data, supply base, industry trends, benchmarking, and best practices.

This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Hartsville, SC, near destinations like Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Columbia, and Charlotte, NC.

We'd Love To Hear From You If

• You hold a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Business, Operations, or Supply Management; an MBA is preferred.
• You have 5 or more years of experience in Supply Management or related leadership roles.
• Your experience includes managing an annual spend of $25-$100MM.
