The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof. In addition to the tertiary care hospital in Karachi, AKUH has a network of 4 off-campus hospitals, 30+ Medical Centres, and over 290+ Clinical Laboratories, 30+ Pharmacies in over 120+ cities across Pakistan. It also offers Home Healthcare Services and home deliveries of medicines. The Hospital provides Zakat for those patients who are eligible, and the health systems offers generous Patient Welfare to support those in financial need. In recognition of its high quality and patient safety, the AKUH is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) as an Academic Medical Centre and its Clinical Laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for fast and accurate testing.

ResponsibilitiesReporting to supervisor, you will be responsible to protect life and property by providing safety and security cover and assistance to all the patients, visitors and employees of the hospital within your assigned areas of duty. You will also perform duty as a key man and initiate and assist in carrying out minor investigations, as and when required. Specifically, you will be responsible to:
- assist the patients, employees and visitors when called for security assistance
- control the traffic and parking while ensuring smooth flow of traffic and parking discipline
- control the visitor flow at the hospital by checking identity to ensure adherence to visiting hours and control of unauthorized persons
- check ID cards of the staff, faculty and students to control unauthorized movement by employees and visitors
- respond to all emergency calls from control and adjoining posts
- assist in fire and other hospital emergencies.
You should have:
- Matriculation completed, preferably an Intermediate
- at least two years of relevant experience, preferably experience of working as a soldier / combatant for the Armed Forces
- efficiency in handling small arms, i.e. Rifles and Pistols, and efficiency in unarmed combat, self-defense and restraining techniques
- efficiency in handling communication equipment, i.e. wireless sets and telephones
- ability to drive light traffic vehicles and to read and write Urdu fluently
- complete fitness and physical ability to perform strenuous jobs
- proficient in public dealing and management of aggressive behavior
- willingness to work in shift duties
- comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
