The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof. In addition to the tertiary care hospital in Karachi, AKUH has a network of 4 Off-Campus Hospitals, 30+ Medical Centres, and over 290+ Clinical Laboratories, 30+ Pharmacies in over 120+ cities across Pakistan. It also offers Home Healthcare Services and home deliveries of medicines. ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible to:
- receive and correctly identify for surgical procedures
- check patients scheduled for surgery in the Operating Room and ensure proper take over of patients' files
- complete all per-operative documentation pertaining to patient's surgery
- ensure that all specimens are removed during surgery, correctly labeled and dispatched for necessary investigation as advised by the surgeon
- scrub for designated cases while displaying competence for different areas as per the scope of services of the hospital
- assists in the safe transportation of patients before and after surgery
- timely report of any problem with equipment to the concerned for rectification
- assist in preoperative patient preparation and coordinate with the scheduler in the smooth running of the OR list.
You should have:
- a Matriculation with pre-medical background and Intermediate in any discipline
- completed Diploma in OT Technician from a reputable institution
- preferably one year of relevant experience
- good understanding of basic anatomy / physiology and OR terminologies, and ability to identify surgical instruments
- good understanding of sterilization and disinfection procedures
- good communication skills and ability to handle work pressure
- willingness to work in shift duties and at different locations
- comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
